Eastern European beer group Efes Brewing International expects to see sales in Russia leap 20% this year.

EBI chief executive Semih Mavis revealed the brewer's target at an industry conference held at the Adam Smith Institute on Wednesday (16 November).

He said EBI, whose brands include Efes Pilsen and Stary Melnik, would see turnover exceed US$400m this year with beer volumes set to hit 6m hectolitres.

EBI, which also has operations across Eastern Europe and the former CIS, runs three breweries in Russia and is the country's number four brewer, with market share of 7%.

The brewer failed to return a request for comment as just-drinks went to press.
