The Macallan owner said today that its North America marketing director, Jim Brennan, will take on the role of senior VP for super premium & regional power brands, a post that includes head of global innovation. Edrington said it is moving the innovation unit from Scotland to the US because a majority of the spirit industry's innovation activity is generated in the North American country.

Brennan will report to both Edrington Americas CEO Chris Spalding and Glasgow-based Paul Ross, who is the global MD for super premium & innovation.

Other changes include:

  • Raul Gonzalez, previously VP of marketing for single malts at Edrington Americas, will take on the newly-created post of VP for The Macallan & business development team
  • Edrington Americas CFO Michael Misiorski will become joint CFO & COO
  • Juan Gentile has been promoted from VP to senior VP for Latin America and Americas Travel Retail

Spalding said: "I am confident that the changes will best position Edrington to expand upon the exceptional growth we have achieved since the inception of Edrington Americas in 2014."
