East London Liquor Co has launched a gin aged in cider and ginger beer barrels.

The new launch was aged for six months in the barrels, some of which were taken from East London's business neighbour in Hackney, Square Root Soda. The liquids were blended to create the 42%-abv expression.

East London has released a number of limited-edition barrel-aged gins since January 2016. Previous launches include gin rested in ex-casks of new French oak, ex-Sonoma rye, new French oak and refilled French oak, ex-Sherry, ex-white wine, ex-Bourbon and ex-peated.

The company's core product is the 40%-abv London Dry Gin.

Other barrel-aged gins on the market include Elephant Gin's, which is made using a rye spirit base. Elephant Gin is made in Germany and contains African botanicals, such as baobab.
