The first Drambuie TV ad to be developed since William Grant & Sons acquired the Scotch whisky liqueur brand has been released.

“Found Film” will run across the holiday season in the US and premièred last night on the Travel Channel and TrueTV. It was created in less than a month and celebrates the acquisition of Drambuie in September, William Grant said.

Shane Hoyne, global brand director for Drambuie, said: “We are incredibly excited about our latest addition and look forward to maintaining and building on the success of one of the world’s best known Scotch whisky liqueurs.”

The ad features an original Drambuie bottle from the 1960s and shows what might have happened behind the scenes of a recording of a jingle for the brand during that era. Both 15- and 30-second versions of the ad will be aired.

William Grant beat a number of contenders for the Drambuie brand, which was previously owned by the MacKinnon family.
