Dr Pepper and Major League Gaming (MLG), the video game league, have expanded their US sponsorship deal.

The agreement will see Dr Pepper launch a nationwide promotion where every 20oz bottle sold is a "winner", supported by online content built around the MLG team, Str8 Rippin, it was announced today (19 November).

"We're excited about giving Dr Pepper consumers and aspiring gamers inside access to Str8 Rippin and a chance to interact with the team and Major League Gaming," said Terry Hockens, brand manager for Dr Pepper.

Starting in January, there will be around 175m Dr Pepper and Diet Dr Pepper 20oz bottles produced throughout the country featuring Tom 'Tsquared' Taylor, one of MLG's "biggest players".

This will be the first time Dr Pepper has placed any of its sports league partners or sponsored professional stars on its label for national distribution.

Consumers will have the chance to win Xbox consoles, television monitors, custom headphones, t-shirts and online tournament points.
