Pastrana, who joined Dogfish in 2018, is leaving to "pursue other opportunities", Boston Beer said in a statement to just-drinks. The former marketing head for Crayola crayons and Silly Putty will finish at DogFish Head at the end of this week.

From the start of this year, Dogfish Head and Boston Beer have been merged into one company. Boston said there are no planned departures of its leadership team and that Pastrana's role will not be filled.

Boston Beer announced in May last year it was to merge with Dogfish Head. The move followed a slowdown in the US craft beer industry that has seen a number of brewers restructure operations. Some US craft brewers have joined regional or national collectives in a bid to save costs.
