A Bunnahabhain from 1988 and a Ledaig from 1997 are two of the iterations to feature in this year's limited edition of single malt Scotch whiskies from Distell.

The 2019 Limited Release Collection, announced today, comprises eight expressions from the South Africa-based company's three whisky distilleries in Scotland. The latest in the annual bottling series is backed by a recorded tasting of eight of the expressions, recorded at Distell's Deanston distillery.

This year's series features:
(All are available in the UK, Europe, Taiwan and the GTR channel)

  • Bunnahabhain 2007 Port Finish - Whisky refill Hogsheads in 2007, filled into Port pipes in 2016, 275 units, RRP of GBP90 (US$114). Also available in China
  • Bunnahabhain 2007 French Brandy Finish - Filled into whisky refill casks, finished in French brandy butts, 570 units, RRP of GBP90. Also available in Canada and the US
  • Bunnahabhain 1988 Vintage Marsala Finish - Finished in Marsala hogsheads, 420 units, RRP of GBP450. Also available in China and the US
  • Deanston 2002 Organic Oloroso - Laid down in rechar casks, transferred to organic Oloroso casks, 528 units, RRP of GBP100. Also available in China, Canada and the US
  • Deanston 2006 Fino Finish - Matured in Bourbon casks for 9.5 years, transferred to Fino Sherry casks, 268 units, RRP of GBP65. Also available in China
  • Deanston 1997 Palo Cortado Finish - Matured in Bourbon casks, transferred to Palo Cortado hogsheads, 277 units, RRP of GBP150. Also available in China, Canada and the US
  • Tobermory 1999 Marsala Finish - Matured in whisky refill hogsheads, transferred to Marsala casks, 211 units, RRP of GBP130. Also available in China, Canada and the US, and
  • Ledaig 1997 Manzanilla Finish - Matured in whisky refill hogsheads, transferred to Manzanilla hogsheads, 258 units, RRP of GBP160. Also available in China, Canada and the US

Derek Scott, Distell's brand director for malt whisky, said: "We constantly look at our approach to see how we can stand out internationally and take a bold stance to showcase our malts. It therefore seemed an obvious choice to embrace the digital world and share our new limited release collection through film and social media."
