The new-look Black Bottle from Distell will hit the US at the end of the year

Distell's Burn Stewart Distillers Scotch whisky division is set to roll out updated packaging for its Black Bottle blended whisky brand.

The company, which launched a reformulated version of the Scotch last year, will extend the new packaging to France and Germany later this year. The US will get the bottle this winter, following “a very positive reception” for the pack in the UK, Russia and the Baltic States.

"The revised look and blend offer a more authentic version of Black Bottle's history and were rigorously researched before the recent introduction," said Robyn Bradshaw, brand spokesperson for duty-free at Burn Stewart.

In November, a Travel Retail-exclusive 1-litre format will be launched.

Distell acquired Burn Stewart last year for US$244m.
