Diageo has delivered on its promise earlier this year to enter the alcoholic seltzer fray in the US, launching a Smirnoff-branded range this month.

In August, the group confirmed plans to release an alcoholic seltzer in the country. Smirnoff Spiked Sparkling Seltzer, unveiled this week, will be available in three fruit flavours from later this month.

Orange Mango, Cranberry Lime and Watermelon will come in six-packs of 12oz cans. Each has 90 calories per can, 1 gram of carbohydrate and does not contain sugar or artificial sweeteners.

Earlier this year, Diageo extended the Smirnoff brand into the cider category in the UK.

Seltzers have long been a top choice when it comes to mixers, so it is no surprise that hard seltzers are quickly becoming one of the new favorite bubbly alcohol beverage options for adult consumers. Consumers 21 years of age and older will be able to pick up SMIRNOFF™ Spiked Sparkling Seltzer in three refreshing-tasting flavors – Orange Mango, Cranberry Lime and Watermelon – beginning in November. Served chilled in its slimline can, the three flavors are crafted to remove gluten*** and are infused with natural fruit flavors.

SMIRNOFF™ Spiked Sparkling Seltzer is 4.5% alcohol by volume (ABV) and is best served chilled in the 12 oz. slimline cans or in a glass on the rocks with a fruit garnish. The new product will be available nationwide with a manufacturer's recommended retail price of $8.99 for a 6-pack of 12 oz. cans.

To remind consumers this product is meant for those over the age of 21, there is a hard-to-miss "Must be 21+ to purchase" callout on each can. When cracking open one of these tasty cans, SMIRNOFF asks consumers to enjoy this bubbly goodness responsibly.
