Marco Preda is leading Diageo's increased focus on e-commerce and digital

Marco Preda took up the role as the drinks firm's general manager, digital and e-commerce for Europe last month. Diageo said the job was created to “unify the company’s digital practices and develop a comprehensive digital presence" to generate new business and "maximise online sales”.

“We are constantly seeking new ways to innovate and to showcase and sell our brands in the most exciting, new and convenient ways possible,” said John Kennedy, Diageo Europe's president. “The digital world opens up new opportunities for us and we are really excited about the role Marco will play in shaping the future of the company.”

Preda, who is based at Diageo's London headquarters, was Ralph Lauren's senior director for e-commerce, business operations & strategic planning. Prior to that, he worked for Swiss pharmaceutical firm Merck Serono, Johnson & Johnson, BT and Foot Looker.
