The New Zealand unit of Diageo has launched a limited edition version of the company's Johnnie Walker Black Label in the country's travel retail channel, released to raise funds for the Christchurch earthquake appeal.

The division confirmed yesterday (24 October) that around 17,500 1-litre packs of the Scotch whisky variant will be available at all DFS & JR travel retail stores across New Zealand's international airports. From each purchase, NZD2 (US$1.60) will be donated to the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal Trust, NZD1 from Diageo and NZD1 from DFS or JR.

The packaging gives information about the quake and the traditional Johnnie Walker striding man logo is depicted by the New Zealand silver fern.

The release will be available from next month.
