Diageo has announced changes in its senior management in Africa, Asia and Australia.

David Hampshire will retire from his current role as managing director of Diageo Africa, effective 1 October 2004. Nick Blazquez, the current managing director of Asia Key Markets will replace Hampshire. Hampshire has agreed, however, to continue as non-executive chairman for Diageo Africa until May 2005.

John Pollaers, the current MD of Diageo Australia, will replace Blazquez as MD of Asia Key Markets, effective from 1 September. Pollaers will oversee business through the six IMCs: Diageo Japan, Diageo Moet Hennessy Japan, Diageo Korea, Guinness UDV Korea, Diageo Taiwan, and Riche Monde (Bangkok). Pollaers will remain as non-executive chairman of Diageo Australia until F05, at which point he will relinquish this position with Diageo Australia.
In addition to his current role in Australia, Pollaers is chairman of the Distilled Spirits Industry Council of Australia.

From 1 August 2004, Eleanor Craig, currently general manager of Diageo Nordics, will become managing director for Diageo Australia. Craig has previously worked with Seagram as Vice President Customer Development, Europe & Africa.

Finally, Jim Young, the current finance and commercial director of venture markets, will succeed Craig, as managing director of Diageo Nordics, venture markets from 1 August 2004.

A replacement for Young has not yet been confirmed.
