The spirits giant Diageo is planning to plough £2m into the UK market for American whiskey by launching Bulleit Bourbon there, which it acquired from Seagram in 2001, according to a report in the trade press.

A report in the UK's Marketing magazine said that the brand will appear in the on- and off-trade (where it will retail at £17.99).

Diageo was also reported to be considering a TV campaign in the run-up to Christmas.
