Diageo Chateau & Estate Wines has launched a new Italian Pinot Grigio across the US market.

The company said today (2 October) that the Stellina di Notte, meaning 'little night star', is a Pinot Grigio from the Three Venices region of the country.

The winemaker, Stefano Pesci, said: "In Italy, wine is quite literally a way of life. By creating Stellina di Notte Pinot Grigio, I strive to share the communal, celebratory spirit that Italians have brought to the table for centuries."

The new varietal taps into the US's growing demand for Italian Pinot Grigio, which is currently experiencing double-digit growth rates, the company added.

Stellina di Notte Pinot Grigio will retail at US$10 per bottle.
