Drinks group Diageo yesterday bought back 1,300,000 ordinary shares at a price of 721.98 pence per share. The purchase was made through Cazenove & Co.

The purchased shares will all be held as treasury shares.

Diageo now holds 10,300,000 ordinary shares as treasury shares. The total number of ordinary shares in issue (excluding shares held as treasury shares) is 3,039,046,128.
