Diageo has moved its US rollout of Johnnie Walker Green Label Scotch whisky up by a year in response to "intense" consumer demand.

"We know this special whisky is already extremely popular," said Richard Nichols, vice president of Diageo North America's Scotch whisky division. "To get the product on US shelves in time for the holidays, we flew the first several thousand cases in by airfreight."

The whisky—a blend of single malts including Caol Ila, Talisker, Linkwood and Cragganmore—will be available nationwide from the second week of November for a suggested retail price of between US$45 and US$55 per 750ml bottle.
