Diageo has added an eleventh flavour variant to its Smirnoff vodka brand in the US.

The drinks giant confirmed late last week that Smirnoff Blueberry Flavoured Vodka will be available in the country in time for the summer.

The addition joins a Smirnoff flavoured stable that includes watermelon, strawberry and vanilla. The blueberry variant will be available in 50ml, 200ml, 375ml, 750ml, 1-litre and 1.75-litre bottles. The 750ml size carries a SRP of US$14.99.

"In the world of spirits, flavoured vodkas are gaining in popularity with consumers, with Smirnoff really at the forefront of the trend," said Kate Price, brand director for Smirnoff. "With its sweet and tart texture, Blueberry raises our flavoured portfolio to a whole new level."

Earlier this week, Diageo unveiled Smirnoff Source in the US. The 3.5% abv blend of spring water and alcohol has initially been rolled out in the north-east of the country, and will target adults seeking alternatives to domestic beer.
