De Kuyper said today that the partnership, which will begin in March, aims to support the brand in building both local and international distribution. Outside of The Netherlands, Fiorito is looking to target the US market as well as "several European and Asian countries".

A spokesperson for De Kuyper confirmed to just-drinks that the brand was previously handled by Dutch firm De Monnik.

"This partnership consistently follows our vision to 'Own the Cocktail'," said Mark de Witte, CEO of De Kuyper, "And to offer a large variety of premium spirits and liqueurs to consumers, bartenders and partners, so that De Kuyper is always an integral part of the best cocktails."

Franco Fiorito, founder and CEO of Fiorito Limoncello said that his company is looking to take the "next step".

"We are more than happy with the... success of Fiorito Limoncello in The Netherlands," he said. "In the past few years, we have built up the category and renewed the limoncello market in The Netherlands by creating a premium limoncello.

"Now it's time to take the next step and capture new markets to transform Fiorito Limoncello into a global brand."
