Category - Sparkling canned water

Available - From this month

Location - UK, initially exclusively with Selfridges

Price - GBP1.29 (US$1.65)

New UK drinks company Dash Water has launched a sparkling canned water flavoured with "wonky" fruit and vegetables.

The brand, also called Dash Water, uses ingredients that do not conform to supermarkets' regulations on shape and size. These surplus fruit and vegetables are used in Dash's two flavours, Sparkling Lemon and Sparkling Cucumber.

"We're passionate about offering drinks that are healthy, but also crafted in a sustainable way," said co-founders Jack Scott and Alex Wright in a statement. "We've had a great reception to our infusions so far, they're a perfect fit for speciality stores and deli owners who are craving a drink with provenance and transparency."

Dash Water is launching exclusively with Selfridges and will then be available from Planet Organic, Daylesford and independent farm shops and delis across the UK.

The company has worked with food waste charity Feedback on the new product. According to Dash, 20%-40% of fruit & vegetables grown in the UK do not end up on people's plates.
