Danone has launched the first flavoured and sparkling line from its Evian bottled water brand in the US.

Evian+, announced this week, is free from sugar, sweeteners and calories and is available in four flavours; Raspberry & Ginseng, Lime & Ginger, Grapefruit & Basil and Cucumber & Mint. Each variant contains magnesium and zinc, which the company claims will support normal cognitive function and reduce fatigue.

“Encouraging our consumers to be healthy … is at the heart of all that we do at Evian, so we’re excited to be able to action this in a new and appetising way.” said the company’s VP of marketing, Shweta Harit. “The introduction of a sparkling flavoured functional water reflects the importance of adapting to consumer habits”.

Earlier this month, Danone confirmed that Emmanuel Faber would stand down as chair with immediate effect, less than a month after he quit as the company’s CEO amid investor pressure.
