Danone is aiming to distribute 10m packs (bottled water, biscuits and lacteal drinks) to the tsunami-stricken areas of Indonesia.

The aid supplies will be based exclusively on its local products such as Aqua, Biskuat and Milkaut.

Danone added that, in the hours following the catastrophe, its Indonesian subsidiaries put in place an emergency committee and distributed some 10,000 bottles of water, packets of biscuits and lacteal drinks, convoyed to the north of Sumatra by helicopter.

One of the group's French subsidiaries, Danone Eaux France, has also shipped 50,000 bottles of mineral water aboard a plane chartered from Paris by the Sri Lankan authorities.
