Danone has increased its shareholding in Russian fruit juice and milk products group, Wimm-Bill Dann.

The French group has paid a reported $9.9 million ($17.50/share) in raising its stake from 4.95% to 6.24%.

Danone paid US$33.2m for a 4% stake in Wimm-Bill Dann when it was first listed on the NYSE in February this year.

The Russian group has a current value of US$792m on the New York market.
