C&C Group has lost distribution rights for Danone's Volvic and Evian water brands in Ireland.

The Irish company said today (18 October) that it has received notice from Danone that it was terminating the distribution agreement for the two brands with effect from 30 November.

C&C said that, while the termination will impact the profitability of the Soft Drinks & Snacks division, where it accounts for turnover of approximately €12m per annum, it is not expected to impact upon the group's overall financial performance for the full 2005/6 fiscal year.
