Stock Spirits has announced a change of managing director for its Czech and Slovak operations.

The UK-based company, which operates primarily in Eastern Europe, confirmed today (8 September) that Petr Pavlik has assumed leadership of Stock Plzen, replacing Martin Petrasek, who left the position in May.

Petrasek resigned his position "to pursue a change of direction and new career in academia", a spokesperson told just-drinks.

Pavlik will oversee the 200 strong workforce employed across these two countries, and joins Stock from global consumer goods company Reckitt Benckiser, where he held the position of global category director. He will be based at the Stock Plzen office in Czech and will report to Stock Spirits' CEO, Neil Everitt.

Stock was created through the integration of Stock and Polmos Lublin in 2007 and is backed by Oaktree Capital. Earlier this year, Stock Spirits posted a healthy lift in sales and operating profits for 2008.
