Carlton and United Breweries (CUB), part of the Foster's Group, has agreed an exclusive distribution agreement for the Australian market for the bitters brand, Angostura. The agreement is for a five-year term with an option to extend.

In addition to the well known bitters brand, the deal also includes Angostura's range of fine rums. CUB also said it would be exploring the possibility of extending the Angostura brand into the RTD category.

"CUB is excited about its new business partnership with Angostura International, one of the world's largest bulk rum suppliers, which has already invested significantly in Australia," said CUB managing director, Jim King. "Angostura's decision to award local distribution to CUB is testament to our commitment to building a spirits business in Australia. We are delighted to have secured exclusive distribution of this non-substitutable brand and to have the opportunity to introduce Australians to the Angostura portfolio of rum brands."
