CBA's latest deal is with Luis Brignoni and Luis Brignoni Sr's Wynwood Brewing Co in Miami

Craft Brew Alliance has agreed to buy a minority stake in Miami craft brewer Wynwood Brewing Co.

CBA, which is itself part-owned by Anheuser-Busch InBev, said yesterday it will take a 24.5% share in Wynwood. The deal will allow Wynwood to expand its brewery in Miami's Wynwood Art District, CBA said.

Financial details were not disclosed.

"We're looking forward to helping the great team at Wynwood bring more of their special brand, steeped in Puerto Rican culture and a love of great beer, to more beer lovers throughout Florida," said CBA's chief executive, Andy Thomas.

Wynwood Brewing Co operates a 15-barrel brew house and tap room, with a portfolio including La Rubia Blonde Ale, Wynwood IPA, Magic City Pale Ale and Pops Porter. It was opened in 2013 by Luis Brignoni and his father Luis Brignoni Sr.

The deal is CBA's third partnership as part of a strategy to expand in key beer geographies. In 2014, it struck a deal with Appalachian Mountain Brewery, while last year it formed a partnership with Nantucket Island brewery Cisco Brewers.

With both of the agreements, no stake purchase was announced, however CBA said it would explore opportunities with the brewers to help drive business.
