Authorities in Hong Kong have smashed a wine counterfeiting scam trading on prestigous French wine brand names.

Wine worth around £25 a bottle had been relabelled as Chateau Lafite Rothschild 1982 which sells at around 30 times that price, according to local press reports.

Officials said at least 30 bottles of the fake wine had been seized along with more counterfeit labels and capsules. Other counterfeit Scotch whisky and Cognac bottles with an estimated value of $60,000 were also discovered. Three men were arrested.
