Diageo has confirmed to just-drinks the imminent departure of its corporate relations director, Charlotte Lambkin, less than three years after taking up the role.

Lambkin is stepping down in mid-December, after joining the group in January 2014. Speaking to just-drinks today, Lambkin said her decision has been based on "family reasons".

Having spent nine years as group communications director at BAE Systems, Lambkin replaced Ian Wright as Diageo's corporate relations director, taking up a position on the group's executive committee.

When contacted, a spokesperson for the company said: "After three good years, Charlotte has decided to leave the business and everyone at Diageo wishes her well. She leaves a corporate relations function well set with a strong team in place. Her successor will be announced in due course."

just-drinks understands that Diageo is in the process of recruiting a replacement, with internal and external applications being considered.

Earlier this year, group strategy director Anna Manz left Diageo after 17 years service. Her departure came two months after Africa & Asia-Pacific president Nick Blazquez also stepped down.
