Corban's, the New Zealand wine company recently bought by Montana Wines, has released two wines from its 2000 vintage.

The Estate Marlborough Riesling 2000 is described as a zesty citrus flavoured wine, with orange and lime dominating the palate. Corban's winemaker said: "A cool early growing season with a warm burst prior to harvest produced a moderate, well balanced, ripe fruit.

" A long, cool and slow ferment preceded rapid blending and bottling. The prompt bottling retained maximum freshness and aroma."

An Estate Sauvignon Blanc has also been released. The winemaker said: "A cool yet dry vintage resulted in a longer ripening period that enhanced fruit flavours. After harvest the fruit was crushed, de-stemmed and pressed prior to cold settling for two days and fermentation. Corban's Estate Sauvignon Blanc is a clean crisp Sauvignon with gooseberry and dry grass aromas. The natural acidity provides a clean crisp finish."
