Coors Brewing Company has said that Lee Buxton will serve as interim chief marketing officer, effective immediately. Buxton will fill the role of Ron Askew, who stepped down as CMO last month.

"Given Lee's experience with our company, our brands, our people and our culture, he is the ideal candidate to serve in this important role at Coors," said Leo Kiely, president and chief executive officer of Coors Brewing Company. "Lee has the full confidence and support of our leadership team in continuing to move our marketing programs in the right direction."

Buxton worked in various marketing capacities at Coors Brewing Company from 1977 to 2003, serving most recently as vice president of marketing, and he has continued to actively work with the company in a consulting role during the past year and a half.

Buxton will report directly to Leo Kiely, president and chief executive officer of Coors Brewing Company. A search continues to fill the US president position at Coors.
