Coopers Brewery has opened up export markets in Sweden and Vietnam, according to local reports.

The Austalian Associated Press said today (6 February) that the Adelaide-based company has dispatched its first shipments of beer to the two markets this week, while it also ships product to Finland, Norway, Belgium and Germany.

Coopers reportedly said that the consignment to Sweden consisted of four containers of stout under a quota assigned by the Swedish government, which regulates the sale and distribution of alcohol.

Coopers chairman and marketing director Glenn Cooper was cited as saying: "The Swedish government recently tendered for the supply of stout, and we were successful in obtaining a quota."

While a shipment of pale ale, sparkling ale and stout sent to Vietnam had been arranged through the specialist gourmet retailer Annan Group as opposed to being shipped by previous agents in Singapore and Malaysia.
