Australia's small family owned brewery Coopers is considering following majors Fosters and Lion Nathan and diversifying into wine, according to executive chairman Glenn Cooper.

He said if it eventuated, this would be a two year plan and would be at a premium top image end of the market. Beyond speaking of a wine label rather than winery as such, Cooper did not elaborate.

With any wine initiative Coopers would have the advantage of its Australia wide distribution network and established export markets for its premium ales.

Companies: Lion Nathan
