The European arm of the US drinks group Constellation Brands has appointed a managing director of its Irish operations, Allied Drinks.

Peter Beamish was most recently with Campbell Soups Ireland. He was also worked for Pernod Ricard, and launched Jacob's Creek in the country in 1991.

Christopher Carson, CEO of Constellation Europe, said: Peter brings a wealth of sales and marketing experience to Allied Drinks and extremely strong management skills."

The company added that Padraig Murray had also joined Allied Drinks as sales manager from Diageo.

Redmond Gavin will continue as general manager.
