Coca-Cola North America has unveiled additions to its drinks portfolio. The company launched three drinks at the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) convention in Las Vegas last week.

ADVANCE By POWERade, Tab Energy, and a second Full Throttle flavour, Full Throttle Fury, will double the size of Coca-Cola's North American stable in the US energy drink category.

Described by the company as "hydration with a boost," ADVANCE combines the key ingredients of sports drinks and energy drinks. The drink delivers the same levels of B-vitamins and electrolytes found in POWERade, along with the taurine and caffeine found in energy drinks, and will be available in Cherry Lime and Berry flavours.

Tab Energy is a new energy drink created especially for women. The pink beverage is sugar-free, containing five calories per 10.5-ounce can. Tab Energy will be available in pink cans and four-packs from February.

Full Throttle Fury and Full Throttle Fury Sugar Free have a citrus flavour and come in red cans featuring the brand's signature logo and flame graphics. Both drinks will be available from January.

"The Coca-Cola System is quickly becoming a force in the energy drink category, and this incredible portfolio of beverages offers our customers unsurpassed brands and unparalleled convenience," said Rafael Acevedo, brand manager for sports and energy drinks at Coca-Cola North America.

"We want to be a 'one stop shop' for our retail partners, and in 2006 our energy drink portfolio will offer premium brands for every type of energy drink consumer."
