The Coca-Cola Co. has kept silent over recent speculation about who will take over as CEO of its Indian arm.

Last week the company announced that its expat-CEO of its bottling company, Hindustan Beverages, John Ustas, planned to relocate to the global headquarters in Atlanta, US, fuelling speculation that region vice-president T Krishnakumar would take over as Hindustan Beverages' new chief.

Speaking to just-drinks yesterday (2 October), a spokesperson for the company declined to comment, adding: "We will not expand on rumour or speculation and this is simply what this is."

Ustas, who has been CEO since 2005 after the company restructured the Indian subsidiary and split the bottling and marketing operations, was also previously MD of Coca Cola's Norway bottling operations.
