Coca-Cola Co. and Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Co (CCHBC) are looking to buy Fresh & Co, according to local reports. Belgrade paper Kurir said yesterday (25 August) that Coke has submitted an offer for the Serbian fruit juice maker. A price has yet to be negotiated, the paper added.

In the report, Coca-Cola's spokeswoman in Belgrade, Sandra Parezanovic, said: "Coca-Cola is interested in Serbia's fruit juice market and has been exploring all opportunities in this area." CCHBC and Fresh & Co declined to comment on the story, although the Serbian company, based in Subotica in the north of the country, told the paper that it planned a transaction-related press release on Monday after its owner returns from holiday.

Coke and CCHBC have teamed up already this year, acquiring Russian juice producer Multon in April for US$650m.
