The Coca-Cola Company and its bottlers in Mexico are to attempt to overturn the decision by Mexico's anti-trust authorities that the companies were guilty of abusing their dominant position in the market.

Coke and its bottlers have appealed to the country's federal courts, hoping to overturn the ruling which ordered them to suspend certain marketing and sales practices that gave them exclusive access to retailers. No fine was imposed.

Now, Coke and about 80 of its bottling companies are filing appeals with local district courts questioning the antitrust commission's decision, according to a Coke spokesman, Rodrigo Calderon. "There's still a long legal process," he said.

Mexico is Coke's second biggest market after the US.
