It is 20 years since Coca-Cola first launched Diet Coke in Canada and to mark the occasion the cola giant has today launched what is the first flavour extension to the brand, Diet Coke with Lemon.

The move to add a flavour extension came after research concluding that almost 25% of Canadians request a slice of lemon or lime when ordering a glass of cola. The formula for Diet Coke with Lemon is the same standard recipe, the natural lemon being the only change.

As with regular Diet Coke the lemon variety, which was launched in both the US and Puerto Rico in October, contains no sugar and has only one calorie.
