Coca-Cola HBC said the talks are over a "small transaction" with MB Impex

Coca-Cola HBC has confirmed to just-drinks it is in discussions with Bosnia-Herzegovinan spirits producer MB Impex to buy some of its brands.

The talks are over a "small transaction" involving the acquisition of "certain MB Impex brands", a spokesperson for the Coca-Cola bottler said, without giving further details. Discussions are also being held over the possible distribution of MB Impex products by CCHBC's Serbian and Bosnia-Herzegovinan units.

The independent MB Impex is based in Banja Luka, an ethnic Serbian region in the north of Bosnia &Herzegovina. According to Bosnia-Herzegovinan media, it produces fruit brandies and honey liquors as well as vodka, gin, and rum.

In nine-month results released this month, Coca-Cola HBC continued its strong 2017 performance, with sales by value and volume both registering single-digit growth in the third quarter. The rise helped drive the top-line in the nine months of the year so far to a near-6% climb.
