Coca-Cola HBC's Polish unit has appointed Marie Brizard Wine & Spirits' Polish subsidiary to handle its products in the country.

Sobieski Trade will distribute CCHBC Polska's range, including brand Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite, Nestea, Powerade and Monster. The agreement applies to the retail channel.

"This partnership will expand MBWS' distribution network in Poland, and should consequently increase the availability of its products in traditional trade outlets across the country," said MBWS. "The partnership also underscores the key role that MBWS' wholesale business plays, and the distribution reach it provides the company across Poland."

It is not immediately clear who handled the products in Poland prior to this agreement.

Earlier this month, CCHBC said net sales declines slowed the third-quarter as emerging markets helped prop up a weak nine months. Group sales slipped by 2% to EUR1.74bn (US$1.93bn) in the three months to the end of September, the soft drinks bottler said. The decline was better than the 3% slip in the year-to-date, and was driven by a flat Q3 performance in CCHBC's emerging market regions.
