Coca-Cola FEMSA saw profits climb by 5.5% in H1

Coca-Cola FEMSA has recorded an increase in profits in the first half of the year, driven by double-digit growth in its Mercosur and Mexico divisions.

For the six months to the end of June, consolidated net profits increased by 5.5% to MXN4.87bn (US$417.8m). Operating profits climbed by 10.8% to MXN8.49bn, as sales in the period rose by 10.5% to reach MXN54.38bn.

The soft drinks firm said the performance was supported by volume growth across all divisions, in addition to pricing initiatives implemented over the past several months throughout its main markets.

In the company's second quarter, profits amounted to MXN2.63bn, a 6% increase on the prior-year period. Operating profits rose by 12.4% to MXN4.60bn. Sales in the quarter climbed by 12.9% to reach MXN28.42bn.
