Coca-Cola Zero will launch on 5 October

The Coca-Cola Co is to launch Coca-Cola Zero in India, upping the no-calorie brand's presence to 149 countries.

The roll-out, on October 5, is part of Coca-Cola's “2020 vision” project that has seen the company pledge a US$5bn investment in India. It follows the launch of mango drink Maaza Milky Delite in Punjab and Kolkata this year.

Coca-Cola Zero will be available across the top 100 towns in India in more than 180,000 outlets, initially in the Reliance Retail chain. It will also be available online at Amazon India as well as Hindustan Coca-Cola’s own online portal, 15 days after the Amazon launch.

India is the last of Coca-Cola’s top six markets to introduce Coca-Cola Zero, after the US, Mexico, China, Brazil and Japan. The brand was first launched in the US in 2005.
