Coca-Cola Bottling Co Consolidated has agreed another territory deal with The Coca-Cola Co

Coca-Cola Bottling Co Consolidated (CCBCC) has announced the latest move in expanding and realigning its franchise footprint in the US.

The North Carolina-based firm said today that it has agreed a deal with The Coca-Cola Co to exchange its territory in Jackson, Tennessee, for the Atlanta-based firm's territory in Lexington, Kentucky. The deal is expected to close in the first half of 2015.

CCBCC, the largest independent Coca-Cola bottler in the US, previously agreed a deal for extra territory in May.

The move came after the Coca-Cola Co said late last year it was preparing to give its US bottlers more territory, as it moves away from owning bottlers.

CCBCC also said that it is looking to agree further deals with The Coca-Cola Co in Cleveland and Cookeville, Tennessee; Louisville, Paducah and Pikeville, Kentucky, and Evansville, Indiana.
