The 41,378 square-metre development in Hazelmere, Western Australia, will accommodate CCA's warehouse and distribution operations for the Perth and Greater Western Australia region, the firm said this week.

The site also includes 20,053sqm of land for future warehouse requirements. CCA has committed to an initial 15-year lease on the site, which will be developed by Goodman Group.

The development is due to be completed by September 2011 and is expected to be "one of the largest industrial facilities in the Perth area".

CCA's general manager for planning and strategy, Peter Steel, said: "This new facility will be pivotal to the success of our Western Australian operations."

A number of environmental initiatives have been incorporated into the design of the CCA facility, including pneumatic wall louvers to automatically regulate ventilation, warehouse wall and ceiling insulation to reduce heat loading, a solar hot water system and rain water tanks.
