CCA, which is Coca-Cola's bottler and distributor in Australia and surrounding countries including Indonesia, said today that almost 300m shareholder votes were in favour of the deal compared to about 800,000 against. About 1.2m of the votes cast at today's AGM were abstentions.

The move paves the way to Coca-Cola paying US$500m for a 29.4% stake in Coca-Cola Amatil Indonesia. Coca-Cola, which owns 29% of CCA, announced the deal in October and said the money will go towards expanding production in Indonesia as well as new warehouses and infrastructure.

Today's vote followed CCA's full-year results, in which underlying profits in calender 2014 fell by 25% and sales dipped by 3%. Profits in CCA's Indonesia & Papua New Guinea unit also fell, however volumes and sales were up.
