CI Holdings plans to invest heavily in a line of beverages for Asian markets, according to local reports. The Malaysian-based subsidiary of Permanis is expecting to spend MYR30m (US$7.9m) beginning in the fourth quarter of 2006, the New Straits Times said today (25 November).

The new line of beverages includes coffee, tea, soya and various kinds of juices, the report added.

"Hopefully, everything will be online by the end of this year," CI Holdings' managing director Johari Abdul Ghani was cited as saying. "We want to start manufacturing these products 12 months from now. We are now importing and buying machines for this new line."
