Chivas Brothers has reopened its Allt a'Bhainne distillery in Scotland. The Pernod-controlled company confirmed the move on Friday (27 May).

In a statement, Christian Porta, chairman and CEO of Chivas Brothers said: "The expanded production capacity offered by Allt a'Bhainne further supports our commitment to achieving our long-term objective to be the global leader in premium Scotch whisky."

Allt a'Bhainne's integration into Chivas Brothers production processes will be overseen by production director Douglas Cruickshank.

It will be added to the six working distilleries currently operated by Chivas Brothers in Speyside - Strathisla, The Glenlivet, Aberlour, Glen Grant, Longmorn and Glenallachie.
