China Water and Drinks, a leading producer and distributor of bottled water in China, has announced that it has applied for a listing on the American Stock Exchange (Amex).

The company said its common stock will not begin trading until it had been approved by Amex and satisfied all applicable regulatory requirements and listing standards. It added that it could not confirm a date by which that process would be complete.

China Water and Drinks CEO Xing Hua Chen said an Amex listing would increase the company's visibility, strengthen its shareholder base and enhance shareholder value.
