Nicolas Feuillatte's last MD, Julie Campos, departed in March

The Champagne house confirmed this morning that Juarez has assumed the position. He moves across from Unicoop, a Cognac-based co-operative, where he was CEO. Previously, Juarez worked for Laroche Wines, also as MD.

In March, Nicolas Feuillatte announced that Julie Campos was standing down as MD, having taken up the role in 2014.

In his new role, Juarez will be charged with continuing to "develop the potential of Nicolas Feuillatte" and promoting "the assets of the Centre Vinicole cooperative business model".

He will report in to chairman Véronique Blin.

The Nicolas Feuillatte brand is France's Champagne market leader.

In figures released in March by Champagne trade association the Comité Interprofessionnel du Vin de Champagne, the sector reported a 0.6% dip in full-year sales in 2016, with volumes falling 2.1%.
