Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling (CCHBC) is to team up with the Coca-Cola Co. to acquire a Serbian mineral water company. The Greek bottler confirmed today (21 February) that it will purchase Vlasinka with Coke for an undisclosed sum.

The purchase follows the release of CCHBC's Serbian acquisition plans last Tuesday (15 February). "This acquisition is a significant further commitment to our operations in Serbia," said CCHBC's managing director Doros Constantinou.

The company said that the acquisition involves production facilities at Surdulica in southern Serbia and the mineral water brand Rosa.

"Rosa has great potential for growth," Constantinou continued. "We have a strong track record in integrating new water businesses into the group as part of our water strategy."

CCHBC has been focussing on expanding into the non-carbonated soft drink market in Europe. So far, it has acquired five bottlers in Switzerland, Romania, Poland, Austria and Croatia.
